Privacy policy

The short version
Back2It keeps everything you enter on your iPhone. We do not have an account system or a server, we do not see your workouts or anything you tell the app about your body, and we do not sell, share or advertise with anything about you.
What the app keeps, and where
The app stores these on your iPhone and nowhere else:
- what you choose in setup: your goal, experience, training days, session length and equipment;
- the spots you mark as sore, how you rate them, and how that changes over time;
- your workouts: the exercises, weights, repetitions, times and the answers you give after a lift;
- notes you write;
- your settings and reminders.
You type or tap all of it into the app yourself. The app uses it for one thing: to plan your workouts, adjust them around a sore spot, and show your progress. We cannot read any of it. It never reaches us.
No third parties
We do not share your data with anyone. Back2It has no analytics tools, no advertising networks and no third-party code that could see your data. The only other company involved is Apple, as described below, under Apple's own privacy terms.
Apple Health
If you allow it, Back2It saves each finished workout to Apple Health, so it appears with your other activity. What it saves is a strength-training workout with its start time, end time and length. It does not save your pain reports, sore spots or notes to Apple Health, and it does not read anything from Apple Health. You can turn this off at any time in the Health app or in Settings. Workouts already saved to Apple Health stay there until you delete them in the Health app.
Your iPhone's backup
If you back up your iPhone to iCloud or to a computer, Apple includes the app's data in that backup, as it does for your other apps. That is your backup, under your Apple account and Apple's terms. We have no access to it.
Files you make yourself
You can export your history as a file. The file goes only where you send it. Once it has left the app, it is yours to look after.
Reminders, widgets and the Lock Screen
Reminders are set on your iPhone and are not sent through us. The widget and the Lock Screen timer show information from the app on your own device.
Payment
Subscriptions are bought through Apple. Apple handles the payment and does not give us your name, your card details or your address. We see totals, such as how many subscriptions were sold.
What Apple may share with us
If you have chosen in your iPhone's settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple sends us crash reports and usage totals for the app. They do not say who you are.
If you write to us
When you email support@back2it.app, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it only to answer you, and we delete the conversation within twelve months of the last message. Please do not send us details about your health. We do not need them to help you.
Children
Back2It is not made for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect anything from them. As the app collects nothing from anyone, there is nothing of a child's that we hold.
How long we keep it, and deleting it
Your data stays on your iPhone for as long as you keep the app, until you delete it. You can take back any permission you gave at any time in your iPhone's Settings: Apple Health, notifications or anything else the app asked for.
- In the app: Profile, then Reset all data, which removes everything the app has stored.
- Deleting the app from your iPhone removes its data as well.
- Workouts saved to Apple Health are deleted in the Health app.
There is nothing for us to delete, because we hold nothing. If you have written to us and want that conversation deleted, tell us and we will.
Changes to this policy
If the app ever begins to send any of your information off your iPhone, for example to keep your history in step between devices, we will change this policy first and the app will ask you before anything is sent.
